Enjoying the sunshine this week, Wrens have been bug hunting, making nature books and using their imagination to play pirates and sharks. Be careful not to fall off the plank into the swamp!
Science week in QM, and Wrens have enjoyed an amazing visit from ' Johnathan Jungle.' They all got to touch and hold a gecko, a leaf insect, a stick insect and a snake. The children were fantastic and even though some children were not keen to touch they braved their fears and touched them all. We have learnt where they are from and how to look after them. The children came home with a sticker on them with Johnathan's website. If the children go on the website they will be able to see all the insects and the snake that they held today.
Today, Wrens enjoyed a workshop about dental hygiene with Oasis Dental Care from Tewkesbury. The children learnt about healthy and unhealthy foods for their teeth and how to brush their teeth properly. The practice are currently taking on new patients. Treatment is free for under 18's and everyone should get check ups twice a year. For more information visit:
www.oasisdentalcare.co.uk/practices/oasis-dental-care-tewkesbury/ All the children did a great job brushing their teeth and are looking forward to telling you about the top tips from the tooth fairy: * Brush teeth twice a day * Brush teeth for 2 minutes * Brush your teeth in circles * Spit out the toothpaste but don't rinse * Eat healthy snacks between meals * Go and see the dentist twice a year This week Wrens have been using the dice and number lines to find out one more or one less than the number they rolled. Why don't you have a go at home?
The children enjoyed a wonderful trip to Bristol Aquarium last week. We hope you enjoyed hearing all about it from your child.
Wrens are really enjoying their balance bike sessions and their skills are improving week after week. Looking forward to seeing them ride their bikes at the end of the program.
Welcome to term three! This term our theme is called 'Splish, Splash, Splosh!' We are sending home an information letter about all the exciting learning opportunities that will be taking place for the children. This week our story will be 'The Rainbow Fish'. If your child has anything at home that they would like to bring in to share, such as books or toys about water/fish/boats/sea creatures then we would love to see them.
